What
The Getxophoto public participation space is open to anyone who wishes to take part in the Festival by submitting a single photograph on the theme of this year’s edition.
Who
Anyone who wishes to participate, whether amateur or profesional, may do so. If you are a child, with the permission of your parents or legal guardian.
How
Each participant must complete the registration form and submit only one (1) photograph to getxophoto@gmail.com * related to Reset, the theme of Getxophoto 2026: projects that address experiences of change, reworking, recycling and reinvention; of life cycles and celebrations; of individual or collective stories of resetting. In short, system reboots in any of their forms.
* The image must be a JPG file with a minimum size of 2400×1600 pixels and a resolution of 240 dpi.
When
–The deadline is March 25th.
–The selected entries will be announced during the first half of April.
Where the photos will be displayed
–The organization, in collaboration with Gorka Garate and Eukene Olague, will select round thirty images to be exhibited in the shop windows of various businesses from the Algortako Dendak merchants’ association, depending on the suitability of the format and exhibition space.
–A guide will be published featuring both the selected images and the participating businesses, providing a route for those who wish to enjoy the photographic walk.
–Algortako Dendak, a partner of the activity, will select what it considers to be the best photograph taken by a photographer from Getxo and will award a prize of a €100 voucher, redeemable in one of the participating stores.
REGISTRATION FORM
*Use of images
–Minors: the authorisation of their legal representative or guardian must be obtained.
–Getxophoto may use the images received on its website or in future editions of the Festival, always including the name of the author of the image. These images will never be used for commercial purposes.
–Getxophoto Festival reserves the right to discard photographs that promote sexist, LGTBIphobic or racist violence.
–Participation is free, open, non-competitive and implies knowledge and acceptance of the rules.
*Authorisations & Rights
–Copyright remains with the artist at all times.
–Participants must confirm that they are the authors and copyright owners of the image submitted and that their work does not infringe the privacy, copyright or any other rights of any person.
-Participants guarantee that they have the explicit consent of all people who are pictured in their submitted images/work (the legal guardian in the case of children) to exhibit and publish the images as described in these terms and conditions.
*Personal Data
–Participants agree that their full name, URL and social media may be published in combination with their submission. Further contact information will not be published.
–All personal data provided during the registration will be stored for the management and selection of the entries by the organisers, as well as for statistical purposes in an anonymous form.
–Participants agree that the submissions will be archived, regardless of whether they are selected or not. Participants may revoke this consent via e-mail (to getxophoto@getxophoto.com). In case of revocation, the corresponding images will be deleted after the end of the selection process.
