••Clues and games (Spanish)

•Games from other cultures

Mon Sevilla

•The eagle catches the chicks (China)

·One person keeps it and the rest of us and the rest of us have to line up and hold on to the person in front of us.

·The person who keeps the turn has to try to catch the last “chick”, while all the people in the line try to protect it without letting go.

·If the person catches him or her, the chick takes the turn and the person who caught the chick moves to the front of the line.

•Po po mano’o (Samoa)

·We all stand very close together in a circle, facing the center and singing:

Po po mano’o, Po po mano’o, Toso le taliga, Ua mu falo
(Gently hit the fish, gently hit the fish,
pull the ear that’s red – with a tug!
)

·While we sing, we each take turns placing one hand on top of the others’, forming a pile of hands. When the song ends, the person whose hand is on top quickly grabs the ear of the person next to them with their free hand and holds on.

·We sing the song again and repeat the whole process until there’s only one free ear left. That person must fulfill the command given by the group.

•Mamba (Southern Africa)

·We mark out a large square: the more people playing, the larger the space should be.

·One person is the Mamba, a venomous snake. The rest of us stay inside the square but keep our distance from the snake.

·The Mamba has to catch the others: when someone is tagged, they line up behind the Mamba and hold on to the shoulders or waist, becoming part of the snake’s body.

·The person who’s caught goes to the end of the line and follows the Mamba’s movements, so each time the snake catches someone, it grows longer.

·Only the “head” of the Mamba can tag another player, but it can use its body to trap someone and catch them. However, players are not allowed to pass through the snake’s body.

·The game ends when only one person remains — they become the next Mamba.

•The Trial (Tangier)

·We make a pile of sand and stick a pole in the center. Taking turns, each person removes some of the sand… Everyone decides whether to take away a lot or a little.

·If the pole falls on your turn, you must carry out a task assigned to you by the group.
