Hamaiketako (lunch in Basque) are Saturday mornings in the company of local artists with time and space to share. The idea is to create a space for unhurried conversation, to get to know each other, to exchange concerns, to dare to ask questions… In short, to escape from the “student-teacher” discourse and enjoy a morning with Vicente Paredes and Susana Blasco around a table and a hamaiketako.

Vicente Paredes: Supereuskadi

Born in Orihuela in 1972, Vicente lives in Bilbao. He studied at the University of the Basque Country and at Westminster College in London. His work has been exhibited at renowned national and international festivals such as Images Vevey, Encontros da Imagem (Braga), Lagos Photo and Getxophoto. To date, he has published three books: Furtivos (Fiesta Ediciones/RM/Kursala, 2012), Pony Congo (This Book is True, 2015) which was awarded among the Best Books of the Year in Kassel Fotobook Festival and finalist in The Book Awards Arles, and Supereuskadi (Caniche Editorial, 2022).

Susana Blasco: Piedra, papel, tijera

Born in Zaragoza in 1972, she currently lives in Bilbao. Susana is a graphic designer, illustrator and collagist. She studied Advertising and Business Studies, which she complemented with art and design courses, including her training at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. After working for more than 10 years in different studios and advertising agencies, he founded his own graphic studio. He has received several awards, including the Diputación de Zaragoza grant and the Gràffica Award for his contributions to the collage technique. His work, both graphic and artistic, has been reviewed in specialised media and has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, Miami, Lisbon and different Spanish cities.
