GETXOPHOTO seeks to establish a closer relationship and collaboration with different agents and cultural institutions of the territory, reinforcing the cultural ecosystem of the country. This year we established a connection, through two exhibitions that are part of our artistic program, with Kutxa Kultur (Donostia) and FNAC Bilbao. Also, BilbaoArte Foundation will host one of the experimental laboratories organized by the Festival.
Kutxa Kultur (Donostia)
This is the cultural headquarter Kutxa’s social programme, the factory where the offer of Kutxa Fundazioa is produced. It is a space that aims to be the meeting place and the platform to support the emerging talent of cultural agents and artists with impact. Located on the 4th floor of the Tabakalera building, at the neuralgic center of San Sebastian, it will host the exhibition of the artist Dragana Jurišicć, YU: The Lost Country, within the framework of the 12th edition of GETXOPHOTO.
As the result of a long collaboration between the Festival and FNAC (for 9 years), the exhibition hall of FNAC Bilbao will exhibit the Tokyo Parrots series, signed by the award-winning Japanese photographer Yoshinori Mizutani.
BilbaoArte is a public center of artistic production that provides the necessary means and infrastructures for the professionalization of it’s resident artists. BilbaoArte will host, for the second year in a row, one of the experimental laboratories that will take place within the framework of GETXOPHOTO: Icononauts, a look into the photography of the 19th century, by Martí Llorens and Rebecca Mutell, from Factoría Heliográfica.
